Revolutionary War pistol iron bullet mold

$135.00

Product Description

This is another nice early piece being offered, it is a Revolutionary War bullet mold. It measures 5 ½” long and was for making a round pistol ball of about 11mm (.44 cal.). A small supply of fixed ammunition during the Revolutionary War was for muskets, but with pistols, soldiers had to make their own ammunition by melting lead. A tiny piece of the handle had broken off, probably during the war. On the outer ball section of the mold is some script writing, but I cannot make it out.

In “Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution”, there are similar bullet molds featured (see pictures). This bullet mold is in very nice condition and easily opens and closes. It would make a nice addition to any Revolutionary War collection.
