Revolutionary War Leather Powder Flask, as in museum (SOLD)

Out of Stock

$155.00

Product Description

This is another nice piece being offered, it is a Revolutionary War powder flask made of brass and leather. It measures 6” x 3 ¼” x 1 ½”. The flask has a brass spout with a two-step graduation. The spout with the mechanism is attached to the leather flask with two screws.

By tilting the flask down to fill the brass spout, then you push on the thumb piece of the mechanism and load the barrel of the gun. Once you release the mechanism the spout is closed, and the process is complete. The piece has a brass loop at the end opposite from the loading mechanism to hang from a belt.

There are examples of this flask in the Fort Ticonderoga Museum and in the Revolutionary War Museum in Yorktown, VA and in the Fort Ticonderoga Collection (see pictures). This would make a nice addition to any Revolutionary War or early firearm collection.
