Rare - Stippled US Officer's Floral Design Cavalry Spur from the Baird Spur Book

This is a fantastic piece being offered, it is a rare, excavated cavalry spur. This is the EXACT spur that is pictured and described in the fine spur book by Dr. Bob Baird entitled “Confederate, US and Other Civil War Used Spurs”.

He explains how this is a US officer's spur with the floral pattern on the base of the rowel neck and also how the body of the spur is stippled and describing it as “…the only US 1859 with a heavily stippled surface”. This gives it a beautiful look. The rowel is missing, which is typical of many Civil War spurs. The spur is in beautiful, excavated condition. This is a great looking spur and published by the leading authority on Civil War spurs.
