Rare original Confederate Officer’s button with the Eagle facing left (SOLD,GH)

This is another great piece being offered, it is an original Confederate officer’s coat-size button. This is the rare and desirable example depicting the eagle on a pedestal with stiff posture "facing left" with eleven stars on a lined field with border.

It has the English wartime manufacture that made it through the blockade, "H T & B / (star) MANCHESTER (star)" dm on a very flat back, outer ring of dots. It is a two-part convex 24mm button, Reference: Albert CS36A1, TiceCS210A1.

This high-quality, well manufactured button has 95%+ gold gilt remaining and retains a beautiful untouched patina.
