Package of original Civil War Percussion Caps

This is another nice item being offered, it is an original package of Civil War musket percussion caps still in its folded brown paper. Approximately 2 3/4" long, maybe longer if one end is a little more relaxed. This carries the original load of, I believe 15 caps, as issued. It is very similar to a paper-wrapped cartridge, using the same type of paper.

It is very clean. I unfolded one end to see one of the caps but cannot be positive about how many caps are in there – I am pretty sure it must be full.

It is rare to find existing packages of these caps. In Time/Life “Arms and Equipment of the Union”, there is an example of this package (see pictures). It would go great next to just about any Civil War percussion weapon.
