Revolutionary War black glass wine bottle, circa 1760 – 1785

$165.00

Product Description

This is another great pieced being offered, it is a Revolutionary War black glass wine bottle, circa 1760 – 1785. It measures 9 ½” high with a diameter of 3 ¾”. These bottles are called black glass, but actually they are a dark olive green which appears black.

In “Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution”, there are examples of this bottle (see pictures). There are also examples in the Revolutionary War Museum in Yorktown, VA. I have another one of these bottles on the website which was dug at a Revolutionary War site in South Carolina. This bottle remains in very nice condition, with no cracks or chips – a very nice original Revolutionary War bottle over 250 years old. It would be hard to find a nicer example.
