Original hand-tinted image of a Civil War soldier, completely armed (SOLD)

This is another great piece being offered, it is an image of a young Civil War soldier, that appears to be in the original 9 ¼” x 7 ½” frame. It was hand-tinted by a photographic artist with a patriotic background of a camp scene with tents, soldiers, American flag, cannon, etc.

The unidentified soldier wears an early infantry shell jacket with his musket and bayonet, cartridge box with strap and breast plate, cap box and wearing an oval belt plate. There are some very minor chips on the image that can be touched up if desired, but really not necessary.

No one knows what happened to this young soldier, obviously he was proud to be serving his country in its time of need. Hopefully he survived and had a great life.
