Product Description

This is a rare original copy of “Harper’s Weekly”, dated October 10, 1863. It is complete having 16 pages. It covers just about everything that is currently going on during the war, such as General George Thomas pictured on the front page and being heralded as “The Hero of Chicamauga”.

There are quite a few engravings, including a two-page spread of “Grand Review of the Army of the Potomac”, drawn by the famous Civil War artist Thomas Nast. Other prints within include: "The Attack on Sabine Pass, September 8, 1863" "General Burnside's Army Occupying Cumberland Gap" "The Army of the Potomac--Sharpshooters Improvising a Rest for His Rifle" and "The Army of the Potomac – the Bedouin Tent".

This paper has the desirable “1863” date and is in pretty good condition for its age, no page separations.
