Dropped .69 caliber bullet recovered in Gettysburg off Taneytown Road

Product Description

This is another nice piece being offered, it is a .69 caliber dropped Minie Ball. This bullet and a few others were recovered years ago off Taneytown Road, Gettysburg.

An XI Corps Division passed through Sach’s covered bridge and used the adjacent muddy uphill road to Gettysburg, but the 2 other Divisions detoured from the former crossroad near Greenmount to the Taneytown Rd on the east using the Marsh Creek fording downstream of Greenmount.

This bullet is from the Ken Bream collection that was sold at auction in October 2021. Ken was a 1970 graduate of Gettysburg High School and life-long relic hunter and collector. In the late 1960s through the early 1970s Ken worked on the Eisenhower Farm as a groundskeeper, maintenance man, and general helper for the Eisenhower's.

This large bullet is in very nice condition and would make a great addition to any Gettysburg or Civil War collection.
