Bullets Recovered at an Antietam Hospital Site (SOLD)

Out of Stock

Product Description

About fifteen years ago I was able to acquire a few of these bullets from Antietam and these are the last two available. They are dropped .58 caliber 3-ring minies. They were found on private property at the Kennedy Farm (see period photograph) which was located southeast of the “East Woods”.

After the battle the Kennedy farm was used as a field hospital. Also, John Brown stayed there in 1859 before his attack at Harper's Ferry. Some of the soldiers carved their names into the rocks around the outside of the house, which are still visible today. These two bullets are truly a part of American history.

Purchased two bullets recovered at an Antietam hospital site. Visited the site where they were recovered a number of years ago and was pleased to have a piece of history from the location, with provenance provided and excellent service with quick receipt.
