19th Century Ointment Container (SOLD)

Out of Stock

Product Description

19th Century Tin Ointment Container with original paper label. This small tin with removeable lid measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/8". Approximately 90% of the original paper label is still attached. The label states "Heiskell"s Ointment" and lists all kinds of cures, i.e. Ringworms, ulcers, pimples, eyes, piles, etc. These so-called "snake oil" remedies were popular during the 19th century and in just about all cases, they were uneffective. This unique item is in very nice condition and quite rare still having the original paper label intact.
