Confederate "Richmond" Brass Tag

This item is a section of brass with clipped corners, measuring 2" x 1 1/2" and is crudely marked with "RICHMOND" and the initials "MM". The label which came with this piece states "Probably started by a Confederate soldier for use as a baggage or equipment tag and never finished". It was recovered on private property at the Spotsylvania Virginia Battlefield. This is truly a unique personal item. (ON HOLD, B READY)
