Beautiful matching pair of Civil War Spurs. Click photo and "Detailed Description".
Offered here are an original pair of Civil War brass spurs. They measure approximately 3 ¼” x 4 ½” each and both have their original rowels present. They were hand-finished and still have signs of the file marks on the inside. Also there is a section of this same type of spur which was recovered at the Fredericksburg, Virginia Battlefield (included).
In Commanders of the Civil War, by William Davis, there is an exact pair of these spurs pictured. That pair (see pictures) is part of the private collection of the renowned military artist and historian Don Troiani.
These non-excavated spurs are in absolutely beautiful condition. They have never been cleaned which in turn shows the gorgeous patina to the brass….just as collectors seek. These spurs have been in my private collection for over 20 years. They are museum-quality and are worthy of the finest Civil War collection.
