Broadside for a concert in Vermont, dated 1861. Click photo and "Detailed Description".
This is a unique piece being offered; it is an original broadside for a concert which is being held on April 25, 1861. It is taking place at the Washington Mall in Montpelier, Vermont. It measures 6 1/4" x 9 1/2". It has the typical aging for a 150 year old document, but remains in very nice condition for a piece that in most cases would have been discarded shortly after the event.
It is interesting to see that in Part II of the concert, there are patriotic songs being performed, such as the "Star Spangled Banner" and "America". No doubt that the beginning of the Civil War which only started two weeks prior to the concert, was heavy on everyone's mind. This piece would definitely look great professionally framed.
