This is a 19th century clothes brush, or possibly even earlier. It measures approximately 9" x 4". It is crudely made and I would suspect it was of southern manufacture. It has been in my private collection for over 20 years and I had it displayed as a part of a soldiers personal effects. Soldiers really had no way of cleaning their uniforms but would use something like this just to brush them down. Anyway, it is an interesting and early piece.
