This Sheet Music Holder is made of solid brass and measures approximately 6" x 2". It still has the original spring present which retains excellent tension. Music was a major part of the Civil War soldiers, with just about every regiment having some type of musicians. Some of the larger units would have bands which were a great inspiration and would motivate soldiers while going into battle. 

This music holder is extremely rare; dug examples are often found at Civil War locations, as can be seen in the many relic books (see pictures), but non-excavated specimens are very difficult to come by. This is an excellent opportunity to add it to your Civil War collection. It is the first non dug example I have seen in over 20 years. (SOLD)
