Remains of a leather Percussion Cap Box from battlefield. Click photograph and "Detailed Description".
Remains of a Civil War infantryman's leather cap box. It is a section of the leather with the closing finial still attached, along with the percussion caps that were in it. This unique relic was recovered on private property at the Petersburg, Virginia Battlefield. Surviving battlefield recovered examples of any type of leather is truly rare, but I am still listing this piece with a very fair reserve, so take advantage to add it to your Civil War collection. I will also include the glass top display case pictured.
