Original Civil War era Childs Folding Chair. Click picture for details. (SOLD)
Civil War era Folding Childs Camp Chair. This chair has an oak frame and a carpet seat. In the open position, it measures approximately 18 inches high and 13 inches wide. The chair folds up flat for easy carrying when on the move or for storage. All the wood is tight and solid, no visible repairs, just signs of normal use. The original carpet seat is in nice condition except for a split of about five inches where it folds. This is not noticeable when displayed and would be an easy repair if desired. The exact larger size camp chairs are often seen in period Civil War photographs of camp scenes, but a child’s version is extremely rare. This is a hard to find personal item to your Civil War collection. It would look great in a Civil War soldier’s camp display. Because of age, I wouldn’t recommend using it for reenactments, but for display only. I’ve also been told that it would be a great addition to an antique doll display or in a Victorian child’s bedroom. (SOLD)
