Civil War era pot. This unique piece of Civil War era cookery is fashioned from spun brass with a forged black iron bail handle. The pot stands about 7 inches high and is approximately 11 inches across at its mouth tapering to a 7 1/2 inch diameter base. The pot has a couple stress lines but overall it is in very nice condition with evidence of slight period use and handling. This all original cooking utensil is nicely marked on the bottom MANUFACTURED BY H.W. HAYDEN - PATENT - DEC. 1851 - MANUFACTURED BY THE ANSONIA BRASS CO. It would make a great addition to a Civil War camp display.
