Civil War era large tin Coffee Boiler. The diameter is 5” and it is 6” high. It has a rolled lip and a flat bottom, and all the seams are soldered, which is correct for the era. The handle is also soldered on and there is just a slight separation of the solder on the top, but it is still tight and attached. This is a little larger than the common soldier’s tin cup. These larger sizes were known as coffee boilers, and were a popular camp item. This cup has a beautiful aged patina and overall is in very nice condition. It would make a nice addition to a soldiers personal effects or in a camp scene.
