CDV photograph of Major General Joseph Hooker. Click photo and "Detailed Description". (Currently not available for sale, being photographed for new artillery book).
CDV photograph of Major General Joseph Hooker. It measures approximately 2 1/2" x 4" and shows Hooker in his officer’s uniform. Hooker is best known for the defeat of the Army of the Potomac under his command at the Battle of Chancellorsville. However, this victory for the Confederacy came at a high cost with the mortal wounding of General Stonewall Jackson. The primary reason for the defeat was his inability to cope with the surprising tactics of the Army of Northern Virginia led by General Robert E. Lee. In many other battles, General Hooker performed well as a corps and division commander. This CDV is in very nice condition.....clear and with no creases or bends.
