CDV image of a Union private which was taken in Elmira, New York. He is standing next to a chair and wearing a Union sack coat with a vest underneath. On the back of the image is "Photographed / By / T. Clendennay, / No. 156 Water Street, / Elmira, N.Y." There is a good possibility that this may have been one of the guards at the famous military prison at Elmira. It is a little on the light side, but in nice condition.
