This is another nice piece being offered, it is a Civil War percussion cap box. It has the complete outer flat, the interior flap, and the two leather belt loops on the reverse. The brass finial remains although the small closure strap is long gone.
Attached to the cap box is an old tag which reads “brown color found Arkansas”. There may be a hint of brown but appears mostly black. I am not sure of the Arkansas connection, possibly a very early pickup. This box is in very nice condition, pliable and no leather flaking. It would make a great addition to any Civil War collection.
