Civil War era complete clay pipe

Product Description

This is another nice piece being offered, it is a 19th century clay pipe. It is complete with the full length stem measuring 6 ½” long and has two letters "T" and "D".  Most excavated pipes or surviving examples are just the bowls, very seldom even coming close to complete – the stems are always broken off. In my book “The Civil War Soldier – His Personal Items”, I go into detail about the habits of soldiers concerning tobacco and smoking. This example is non-dug and would make a great addition to any display.
