Product Description

Time Fuse Adapter. This metal corrugated hood was patented by Thomas Taylor of Washington, D.C. on April 11, 1865. Its purpose was to sit between the screw-in time fuse and the body of the artillery shell. When fired it was supposed to direct the flame of the propellant charge to ignite the paper time fuse. It has a diameter of 3” and is 1” wide.
